I've been talking to a few young musicians who have been telling me how they're struggling to get through the summer.

The function of music is to release us from the tyranny of conscious thought.

Everybody is going for a bail out plan, well jazz musicians should also.

Keep in mind that tomorrows workshop is 'beta'. So please do two things if you can:

Over at www.vibesworkshop.com I have Vibe forums set up. Just for us vibe players.

I always feel funny bringing that up cause most of us hang out at thevibe.net. But that site scares me a little. When it goes down sometimes it's down for months, and then all that communication just stops.

This vibe hang we're doing on August 27th.... I talked with Mario over at Mallet Kat. We're old friends and we think alike in many ways. He wants more people to know about his electronic instruments.

As I get older I'm not so thrilled about traveling like when I was young.

My wife totally knows how to bust my balls.... And she does it all the time. She kept telling me she wanted me to hear something great. I kept putting her off.

I've been transcribing Coltrane's solo off Freddie the Freeloader track from.... You know which cd.

Man I just went to back up some of my music. All the Amazon mp3s I bought just went where I told them to go.
